Welcome to The Little Bread Homestead: Christian Holistic Living & Faith-Based Homemaking
Nourishing Body, Soul, and Spirit—One Simple, Intentional Step at a Time

Hello Friend, We’re the Chlebeks
Hello, friend. If you’ve found your way here, chances are you know the feeling: the calendar too full, the noise too loud, the quiet whisper underneath it all asking, “There has to be a different way to live.” You’re not looking for another quick fix or another list of rules to follow. You’re looking for something rooted—something real.
We’re Tom and Meg, the hearts behind The Little Bread Homestead. We’ve been married 19 years now, and if you’d told us on our wedding day what those years would hold—chronic health struggles, seasons of unemployment, broken vows and broken trust, twelve moves before we ever found solid ground—we might not have believed you. Through every unstable season, our faith in Jesus Christ has been the one foundation that never shifted. It’s what carried us then, and it’s what shapes everything we do now: pursuing healing, breaking unhealthy generational patterns, and building a family culture rooted in nourishment—of body, soul, and spirit.
Chlebek—our last name—is Polish for “little bread.” It’s a small phrase, but it holds a big truth: that even the simplest, most ordinary things, offered faithfully, can nourish a whole family. That’s the heart behind everything we create here—faith-based holistic health resources, homemaking rhythms, and from-scratch living practices designed to help Christian families like yours grow stronger, together. That’s the heartbeat of The Little Bread Homestead. Rooted in Christ. Connected at Home. Nourished in every dimension.
We are so glad you are here, please take a seat at the table.
Our Story: The Houses That Built Us | A Foundation of Christian Holistic Living
There are countless stories tucked inside the walls of every house we’ve called home over these 19 years—stories that shaped what we believed about God, about ourselves, about where we belonged in this world. We didn’t always expect to stay in the places we landed; some seasons had us moving temporarily for work, sometimes just four to six weeks, before packing up again. Twelve times in our first fifteen years of marriage, we called a new place “home”. Home has been a tiny cabin, an RV, an apartment, an attic, a rental home and even a hotel all before buying our first home.
Of the three homes we’ve owned along the way, the first we knew from the beginning was only temporary. The second, we hoped with everything in us would be forever. And the third—the one we live in now—feels like home in so many ways, and yet we still long for land of our own, free from an HOA’s boundaries, so part of us wonders if even this is simply another chapter in our home saga rather than our final one.
There’s something hard about building what you love—planting a backyard perennial garden, watching roots take hold—when you don’t know how many seasons you’ll be there to tend it. We are longing to feel rooted, grounded, truly planted, even as we hold loosely to a future we cannot see.
More often than not, the moves weren’t something we sensed coming or had time to prepare our hearts for—they were reactive, sudden, born out of necessity rather than a quiet nudge we’d learned to expect. Each time, we told ourselves, this is it, we’re staying, we want to grow old here. And each time, life had other plans, and we found ourselves packing boxes again before we’d even finished unpacking the last ones.
We didn’t always understand it in the moment. We rarely had a plan for what came next. But we’d learned, slowly and sometimes painfully, that Papa—the name we’ve come to call God, the way a child leans into a Father who is near—doesn’t usually explain Himself in the moment. He simply asks for trust.
Underneath all that moving was a harder story still: years of unemployment that stretched our faith thin, chronic health conditions that left us exhausted in body and spirit, and a marriage that, if we’re honest, nearly buckled under the weight of it all. We were doing our best to build a home while quietly unraveling—stitching together a life from instability, trying to break patterns we didn’t even fully recognize we’d inherited. Looking back, we can see now that we weren’t just moving houses. We were being moved—reshaped, stripped of what wasn’t true, and slowly rebuilt on a foundation that could actually hold.
In the moment, it felt like wandering. But now we see the thread. Every unstable season, every unexpected move, every hard-fought healing was Papa doing something we couldn’t yet perceive—weaving together a family culture rooted not in circumstance, but in Christ. We are cycle-breakers now, not because we arrived somewhere and stayed, but because we kept saying yes to the next small act of obedience, the next step toward wholeness, even when it cost us comfort.
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” — Isaiah 43:19
That’s the heartbeat of The Little Bread Homestead—not a family who has arrived, but a family still walking, still healing, still learning what it means to nurture body, soul, and spirit the way Papa God intended. And it’s why we created this space: to walk with you as you gently explore what’s on your heart, and to offer what we wish we’d had in those wandering years—practical tools, honest encouragement, and the reminder that you are never walking it alone.

What You’ll Find Here | Support For Christian Holistic Living
Because we’ve walked through the wandering ourselves, we built this space to be a soft place to land—somewhere you can explore what’s on your heart, discover the broken places without shame, and learn to nurture your body, soul, and spirit the way Papa intended. You won’t find a formula for perfection here, because we don’t have one, and honestly, we’ve stopped looking for it.
What we do have is a growing collection of blog posts, guides, and printables organized around three simple rhythms we’ve come to believe matter most: a Nourished Body, a Nourished Home, and a Nourished Soul. Whether you’re looking for from-scratch recipes that feed your family well, gentle encouragement for the hard seasons in your marriage or parenting, or a starting point for processing trauma and drawing closer to God, you’ll find something here that meets you exactly where you are.
Alongside our blog, we’ve created digital products and resources designed to support your spiritual, emotional, and practical rhythms at home—tools we wish someone had handed us years ago, back when we were just trying to survive the day. These aren’t meant to add another item to your to-do list or push you toward some polished version of homemaking you’ll never quite reach. These products are meant to walk alongside you, offering small, doable steps toward nourishment, rest, and connection, so you can build a home and a family culture that actually reflects what you value most.
More than anything, we want you to leave this space feeling seen. Feeling encouraged and connected. Feeling like healing—real, lasting healing—is possible, even if it happens slowly, even if it looks different than you imagined. That’s the promise underneath everything we create: you are not alone in this, there is always room for more healing, and that healing happens step by step, not all at once. We’re not here to rush you toward some finish line. We’re here to walk with you, one season at a time, just as Papa has walked with us.

Our Promise to You — Three Simple Truths for Christian Holistic Living
Before you go any further, we want to make you three promises—not because we’ve mastered them ourselves, but because they’ve carried us through every hard season, and we believe they can carry you too. These aren’t polished platitudes we picked because they sound nice on a page. They’re the truths we’ve had to return to again and again, especially on the days when healing felt slow or the road felt lonely. So if you take nothing else from this page, we hope you’ll carry these three things with you.
You Are Not Alone
Whatever storm you’re walking through right now—a chronic health struggle that’s stolen your energy, a relational rift that keeps you up at night, or simply the quiet exhaustion of trying to hold your family together—we want you to know there is a community here walking that same road. You are not the only one who has felt broken, depleted, or unsure how to move forward. We’ve been there ourselves, more times than we can count, and we’ve learned that isolation only makes the weight heavier. Healing was never meant to happen in a vacuum.
That’s why we mean it when we say our door is open. Reach out to us through email or find us on social media—tell us what you’re carrying, and let us walk alongside you as you carry it. We may not have every answer, but we can offer companionship, prayer, and the kind of steady presence that reminds you that you’re not doing this alone.
“Two are better than one… for if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
There Is Always Room for More Healing
No matter how far along you are in your journey, or how stuck you may feel today, we want you to know this: God is not finished writing your story. He is the final author and authority over your life—not the opinions of well-meaning family members, not the comparisons that creep in on social media, and not even the doubts that whisper you’ve healed as much as you’re going to. There is always more freedom, more wholeness, and more restoration available to you, no matter what chapter you’re currently in.
We’ve experienced this truth firsthand, in ways we never expected. Just when we thought we’d reached the end of what healing could look like in our marriage, our health, or our faith, Papa surprised us with more—more tenderness, more restoration, more growth than we thought possible. That’s the nature of a God who is still actively working. He doesn’t abandon what He starts, and He hasn’t finished with you yet.
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” — Philippians 1:6
Healing Happens Step by Step
We know how tempting it is to want an overwhelming checklist that promises to fix everything at once—a seven-step plan, a thirty-day challenge, a complete overhaul by next month. But that’s not how real, lasting healing works, and it’s not what you’ll find here. Instead, we offer practical, actionable tools designed to meet you in the small spaces of your everyday life, because that’s where healing actually lives—in the quiet choices made between the big moments, not in some dramatic before-and-after.
This is why we don’t rush you, and why we won’t ask you to rush yourself. Small beginnings are not something to despise or dismiss; they’re often exactly where God chooses to do His most meaningful work. A single new habit, one honest conversation, a small act of obedience repeated over time—these are the building blocks of the transformation you’re longing for.
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” — Zechariah 4:10
This Space Is for You and Your Family | Faith-Based Holistic Living
So pull up a chair, friend. Whether you’re reading this in the quiet after everyone’s finally gone to bed, or squeezing in a few minutes between homeschool or homework help and dinner prep, we’re glad you’re here. This space was never meant to be a one-way conversation—us sharing our story into the void—but something more like sitting across the table from a friend who genuinely wants to know how you’re doing. You want a life that feels simple, rooted, and deeply nourished—a life where your relationship with Papa God shapes how you love, how you lead, how you heal, and how you build your home. This space is for you and your family.
So we’d love to ask you a few questions, not to add to your plate, but as an invitation to reflect and, if you’re willing, to connect with us directly:
- Where are you or your family feeling most overwhelmed or fragmented right now?
- How is God leading you in your health and healing journey today?
- What kind of support, encouragement, or tools would serve you best in this season?
You don’t have to have polished answers. You don’t even have to have answers at all—sometimes just sitting with the questions is the first step toward clarity. But if something stirs in your heart as you read them, we hope you’ll let that stirring lead you somewhere: toward prayer, toward a conversation with your spouse or kids, or toward a conversation with us. Our inbox is always open.
“Not neglecting to meet together… but encouraging one another.” — Hebrews 10:24-25
